The American Lyme Disease Foundation, Inc. is a pro-active non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control of Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections. It supports critical scientific research and plays a key role in providing reliable and scientifically accurate information to the public, medical community and government agencies about tick-borne diseases and their potentially serious effects on our health and quality of life. The Foundation's ultimate goal is to be a source of information on tick-borne infections worldwide.

The ALDF has an internationally recognized National Board of Scientific Advisors, a National Physician Referral System, and to date has distributed over 1.6 million educational brochures to both the public and health care professionals. In addition, the ALDF has supported the last four International Conferences on Lyme Disease, held several clinical conferences and funds innovative research on the prevention and control of tick-borne diseases.Although the Foundation focuses on public health and emphasizes tick-borne disease prevention and education for the whole community,Foundation representatives are available to discuss a caller's specific concerns.

The foundation is dedicated to prevention, detection and recovery with the ultimate goal being to make Lyme disease a non-risk, through education, advocacy, and directing and supporting research.
