Wide Smiles provides information, inspiration, and support for persons affected
by cleft lip and/or cleft palate. They have pamphlets for new parents "How
different is Anthony", and "Anthony Visits his Cleft Palate Team",
and are planning a parent-to-parent matching program in the near future.
WIDE SMILES was formed to ensure that parents of cleft-affected children do not
have to feel alone. We offer support, inspiration, information and networking
for families everywhere who may be dealing with the challenges associated with
At WIDE SMILES we believe that, while it may not have been wonderful that our
children were born with cleft, it is nonetheless true that our children who were
born with cleft are wonderful. Together we share the struggle, the pain, the joy
and the triumph of watching our children grow. Their challenges may be many, but
we can face them together, learn from each other and help our children to
recognize their beauty within.
Where to Go to Chat with Others
Provides information and support for those dealing with cleft lip and/or palate, whether you were born with it, are parents of a cleft child, or are a relative or friend of someone who was. We discuss everything from the pregnancy to well into adulthood and everything in between. Join in the conversation! We have just moveed from our group at Smartgroups. This group welcomes individuals and families who are dealing with issues of cleft lip and palate. We are not a medical group. We are a group of parents, friends and affected individuals sharing experiences as we travel along the same road of our respective journeys.

- AdoptCleft - Adopting Cleft-Affected Kids
This list was created to support families that have adopted cleft lip and/or palate children internationally. It is not intended to replace the existing lists that provide general support for cleft families and their children. However, there is a need to find information that will tie the special concerns of adoption with cleft children. This list is open to parents wanting to adopt cleft children,parents that have cleft children (bio or adopted) and have experience with adoption, and others that can contribute or learn from our conversations.
