The National Alopecia Areata Foundation is the main source of
funding for research on basic hair biology Alopecia Areata
worldwide. They are the international center for Alopecia Areata
information and educational materials, providing support for those
with the condition and their physician. They have local chapters
and will assist anyone wishing to start a local support group in
their area. Call or fax for further information.
NAAF has pen pal lists, and currently developing a slide
presentation for use at children's schools. They collect information
on research being done and make this available to parents and
physicians and will provide referrals to other organizations and
suppliers of special products.
