Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities Act
The Assistive Technology Act establishes a grant program, administered by the
U.S. Department of Education, to provide Federal funds to support State programs
that address the assistive technology needs of individuals with disabilities.

Each state has a Protection & Advocacy organization charged with providing
advocacy relating to the Tech Act
The Technical
Assistance Project is funded to provide assistance to the AT Act Grantees to
assist them reduce barriers and increase access to assistive technology (AT)
devices and services for consumers with disabilities of all ages. This project
also provides technical assistance in the areas related to universal design,
state procurement actions, and funding of AT.
