Web: http://www.fanconi.org/The Fanconi Anemia Research Fund raises money for research which can lead to discovery of defective genes and the development of treatments or a cure. They also maintain a growing communication support network of parents and adults with Fanconi Anemia. FARF supports the development of life-saving gene transfer therapies, and sponsors and conducts scientific symposia. They distribute support materials for affected families and their physicians.
The Fund develops and maintains a growing communication support network, here parents and clinicians receive research updates, families may find expert care, cell lines are submitted for research, and parents locate others in their area for support or to develop joint fundraising projects.
The FA Handbook, the FA Family Newsletter, Scientific Supplement, and Bulletin all provide up-to-date education and links to latest research findings. The Fund maintains a family directory by alphabetical and geographical lists and refers families to each other according to similar needs or age groups.
