To create a network in which we can keep our members informed on the latest information, research and procedures on Aniridia and its associated problems. To provide emotional support for all members, their parents and family members so they know there are others out there. Networking creates friendships of people dealing with the same condition. They often provide needed support and advice by those who have dealt with these problems before. To help researchers find out more about Aniridia, its genetics, and the procedures to aid in the preservation of sight by collecting data of its members who wish to participate. Some associated conditions are serious. In the case of Wilms Tumor, it may be fatal if not caught early in life. Some develop kidney and pancreatic problems and yet other associated conditions will eventually reduce a legally blind person to a point where the person may only see contrast between light and darkness.
