AAIA provides information to allergic and asthmatic individuals, in the form of counseling, seminars, and publications. The Association supports public awareness of allergy and asthma issues, and with the aid of the medical community helps Canadians understand and cope with these conditions. AAIA has local chapters and will assist anyone wishing to start a local support group. They offer a special packet for parents of anaphylactic children for teaching the school about the problem.
AAIA publishes a quarterly newsletter, AAIA Quarterly, that is included in membership fees and contains the latest news on allergy-asthma related issues. They have patients fact sheets on over forty allergy-asthma-specific topics, cookbooks, videos, and teaching tools. They will provide referrals to other sources of information.

The Food Allergy Network (FAN)

The mission of The Food Allergy Network is to increase public awareness about food allergies and anaphylaxis, a severe, life-threatening reaction. They provide education, emotional support, and coping strategies to individuals with food allergies. They work with families, doctors, nurses, dietitians and the food industry. They will provide assistance to individuals who wish to start a support group in their locality.
FAN publishes a bi-monthly newsletter, The Food Allergy News, that is a part of membership. They also have a brochure that explains the organization and contains a publication list. The Network provides a new member packet that includes, special alert mailings, newsletter, and brochure. They have a bibliography of books and articles that are available to members and books and videos for distribution. Some of the books include "Off to School With Food Allergies," "Traveling With Food Allergies," and "The School Food Allergy Program." Videos include "It Only Takes One Bite: Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis," and "The Elephant Who Couldn't Eat Peanuts." Conract FAN for further information and publication list.
FAN collects information on physicians and researchers who treat/study the condition and disseminate this information to members. They provide information and referrals to other organizations and resources.

AANMA provides patient education, offers discounts, and advocates for people with asthma and allergies. The MA Report, their monthly newsletter provides members with insider information on medical research, new products, practical how-to-tips and helpful hints, updates on legislation, product recalls, prevention and coping techniques.
