A

Summer Arts Camp for Children with Special Needs. Camp Merrimack is a unique arts half-day camp for children ages 3 through 12. Camp Merrimack is open to children with special needs including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, autism and others. With the success of our Dance Your Dreams! program, we are excited to offer more artistic opportunities for students. Classes will include music, theatre, dance and visual art. This camp gives every Deaf teenagers and Deaf children's an opportunity to have an unforgettable 1 week of fun, games, and spiritual growth. Not only that, they learn the essence of teamwork, while also developing their own unique abilities and talents that can often be overlooked. There is no language barriers, therefore, they are never excluded.

- Alaska Asthma Camps
Champ Camp and Limitless Adventures present an opportunity for growth and development for youth with asthma and their families.

A weeklong camp where campers learn a variety of skills in a nurturing environment. Activities include canoeing, hiking, swimming, outdoor games, sports, nature identification and much more.
- Diabetes Camp at Camp Kushtaka
Kids with diabetes are in the minority ... except at diabetes camp. At camp, kids with diabetes are surrounded by people just like them -- both kids and adults who share their day to day challenges and triumphs managing diabetes. Diabetes camp gives kids the opportunity to meet and learn from adult counselors with diabetes who have gone through many of the things the campers are experiencing, and can share the ways they coped with the problems and pitfalls of having diabetes.

Campers are accompanied throughout the week by licensed medical professionals who volunteer to ensure a safe, well monitored environment. - Camp Soaring Eagle - Sedona
Programs are open to children ages 6 to 16 who suffer from the following illnesses: Cancer, Hemophilia, HIV/AIDS, respiratory diseases, Metabolic Syndrome, A-plastic Anemia, Sickle Cell, Juvenile Diabetes, collagen vascular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, mitochondrial disease and selected neuromuscular impairments (with priority given to Muscular Dystrophy, CP, and Spina bifida). While at camp, the children receive 24 hour medical care from our on-site doctors and nurses. Campers can bring their medicines and leave their illness behind as they are surrounded by peers and counselors who understand what it is like to be a child suffering with a serious illness.
- Dream Street Camp
Founded in 1988, Dream Street provides a customized camping program for children with terminal, chronic, and life-threatening infirmities. Over 600 children with cancer, AIDS, cystic fibrosis, leukemia, blood disorders and other serious diseases are given the opportunity to enjoy activities that would otherwise be unavailable to them because of their illnesses. For children who often require medications or treatment several times a day, summer camp is not usually an option. Dream Street is able to offer this experience by supplying a complete medical staff at each camp.

- Camp Beyond the Scars
Camp Beyond the Scars consists of a three-day winter camp and a weeklong summer camp. Both camps provide a relaxed social setting, which offers burn-injured children the support and counseling needed to establish and enhance their self-esteem. Campers learn that there are other children who have had the same unfortunate experience. Camp has proved to be a positive, special experience for young burn survivors.

Junior Blind of America's Camp Bloomfield provides children and youth who are blind, visually impaired or multi-disabled with a natural and safe environment to develop self-esteem, build independence and fully experience the joys of childhood. Nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains in Malibu, this 40-acre campground offers various week-long camp sessions for children of all ages and disabilities.

- Children's Hospital Burn Camps Program
These are "no ordinary camps" for children who have been burned. Besides experiencing all the usual outdoor camp activities - from swimming and horseback riding to skiing and snowshoeing - the children, young adults, and families who attend these Burn Camp Programs gain social living skills that help them cope with their injuries and with life after being burned.

Connecticut
- Camp Harkness
A
recreational facility, completely wheel chair accessible, located on Long Island Sound in Waterford, Connecticut. Admission is by a no-fee pass granted to a Connecticut resident with physical or intellectual disabilities. Qualified and trained staff include life guards, medical personnel and therapeutic riding instructor.

- Arthur C. Luf Children's Burn Camp
Active and retired firefighters from Fire Departments along the East Coast, medical personnel trained in treating burns, burn survivors, and caring individuals help round out the team of counselors for the children. All counselors serve on a volunteer basis. All children attend free of charge. All expenses for lodging, meals, arts/crafts, activities and programs are paid for by the Foundation.
- Hole In The Wall Gang Camp
This camp founded by Paul Newman, is a nonprofit residential summer camp for children with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses. Eight hundred children from 7 to 15 years old come each year, free of charge, from the U.S. and abroad.
Delaware
- Camp Fairlee Manor
Serves children and adults with physical disabilities and/or cognitive impairments throughout the summer and on select weekends year-round. Sessions offer a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, sports and games, nature walks, swimming, fishing, high/low ropes courses and canoeing. The respite camp at Fairlee Manor serves children and adults with the most involved physical, emotional, cognitive and behavioral disabilities, including some medically-fragile individuals. The number of campers are fewer than those that attend the residential camp in order to meet extensive personal needs. The respite program operates on weekends on a year-round basis.

- Camp Amigo Burn Camp
Exists to provide kids who have physical and emotional scars a place to be themselves and build a network of support that will last throughout their lives. The camp is fully funded by private donations and the campers stay free of charge.

- Epilepsy Summer Camp
The Georgia affiliate works with two area camps to provide a week of fun and fellowship for both children and adults with seizure disorders. Many of the counselors who work at these camps each year often have or had a family member with epilepsy and understand the unique challenges the disorder can present. All staff is trained in seizure recognition/first aid.

- Camp Hodia
Our programs strive to foster self-esteem and self-reliance in a safe, healthy environment. Campers learn self care, good nutrition and blood-sugar control. They are shown how to balance meals with activity and exercise. Many campers learn to give their first insulin shot - a big step toward independence.

An adventurous week long day camp, our Kids Camp is designed for children of all abilities and their families. - Camp Ability

- Camp Blackhawk
Children with epilepsy ages 6-18. With an average of 2 children per counselor, and medical staff on-site, there is always a helping hand when needed at Camp Blackhawk. Counselors are specially trained to handle the needs of children with epilepsy.
- Camp Callahan
Dedicated to serving youth with wide-ranging disabilities through a stimulating, liberating program in an environment that is physically and socially adapted to the personal needs of these very special campers. The camp has the specialized environment, equipment, activities, accessible buildings, and a trained adult staff to overcome the barriers that a person with disabilities would encounter at ordinary summer camps.

Offers a unique week long, overnight summer camp experience for boys and girls, ages 9-12, who have been diagnosed with social disorders, such as Social Anxiety, OCD, PDD, Asperger's Syndrome, Non-Verbal Learning Disorder, and High Functioning Autism. Located near Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

This is for children who have sensory integration disorder or children who are on the autism spectrum.

- Illinois Fire Safety Alliance Burn Camp
IFSA Burn Camp is the setting for burn survivors to share common experiences, make new friends and enjoy camp activities
- Timber Pointe Outdoor Center
Timber Pointe offers special needs and inclusive camp sessions for children and adults ages 6 and up. Campers participate in traditional camp activities such as swimming, fishing, boating, arts & crafts, target sports, music, and horseback riding. It is an experience of outdoor life for kids whose health issues make these activities often seem impossible. It is a chance for campers to develop independence and confidence. There were six weeklong Easter Seals sessions this summer, including camps for adults with disabilities, youth/young adults with physical disabilities, youth/young adults with developmental disabilities, and youth with ADD/ADHD. In addition, we offer weekend respite camps during the school year.
- Triangle D Camp
The overnight camp programs for children and teens, ages 9 - 13 for Triangle D Camp and 14 - 18 for Teen Camp, combine a program of summer activities with a program of diabetes education and support.

- Anderson Woods
Provides camp experience and residential services to persons with mental and/or physical disabilities. Campers learn self confidence, trust and responsibility through working together, caring for animals, tending the garden, and enjoying the beauty of nature. Camp is a place where everyone is equal.
- Brave Heart's Camp
For campers who have been hospitalized and undergone surgery for a severe burn injury
- Camp About Face
Specially designed to benefit youth ages 8-18 with craniofacial anomalies. Typical camping activities are provided. Activities include swimming, nature projects, campouts, etc., supplemented by social work, medical support and educational sessions to help build self-esteem and self-confidence. Camp provides many special opportunities for the children to develop supportive relationships and long lasting friendships with others who identify with them and can share similar life experiences. Teen campers 15-18 are offered opportunities for leadership, teambuilding, off-site camping and group challenges.

- Camp Little Red Door
A camp for children, ages 8 to 18, who have been diagnosed with cancer and are receiving treatment in the state of Indiana. Campers can also be in remission, but must be residents of Indiana. Space permitting, campers may invite one sibling/friend. Medical staff is available 24/7. Camp is scheduled for July 26-31, 2009 at Bradford Woods in Martinsville, Indiana.

- Camp Albrecht Acres

- Camp Courageous
Camp Courageous of Iowa is a year-round respite and recreational facility for individuals with disabilities of all ages.
- Camp Hertko Hollow
Camp for kids with diabetes.
- Camp Sunnyside
Camp and travel services for ages 5-adult with and without disabilities at the Camp Sunnyside facilities from June through August. Respite programs available on weekends at Camp Sunnyside site in Des Moines and five regional sites.
- Camp Tanager Hemophilia Camp
Held each year in mid-June. This special camp is one of a kind in the mid-west. During the six-day camp children with Hemophilia and their siblings participate in individual and group activities designed for fun and fitness. They also gain a better understanding of Hemophilia and its effects on individuals and families. The Hemophilia Camp has a 24-hour physician and nursing staff. The camp began in 1986 and serves 50-60 children with Hemophilia and their siblings each year.

- Medical Camping - Center for Courageous Kids
We focus on 2 unique and uplifting camping experiences: During the school year, we conduct family weekends (wherein the entire family can attend) and in the summer months, we host week-long sessions (devoted specifically to the ill child). A year round high caliber medical camp devoted to the bravest kids we know...and their remarkable families. Camps for healthy children are full of physical barriers that make program participation by an ill or disabled child difficult or impossible. These challenges only call attention to a child's illness or disability. Our facility and program are designed so the ill child can feel they are just like everyone else. Built to exceed the spirit and intent of the Americans with Disabilities Act, children enjoy total unrestricted, access to every feature and program of the Camp. Each year many children in the world suffer major burns and other traumatic injuries that cause disfiguration and disabilities. In the United States we have several camps just for the purpose of helping these children cope with their injuries. The general name is Burn Camp but all have an individual name. In Oklahoma ours is the Oklahoma Firefighter's Burn Camp (OKFFBC). OKFFBC is designed to offer children from ages 6 to 16 that have suffered major burns or disfiguring injuries a place of unconditional love and acceptance. We show these children that scars and disabilities do not limit their successes in life. Also provided are fun team building activities that let the children work and play together.

An American Cancer Society sponsored camp for kids who have or have had cancer, and are between the ages of 7 and17 (siblings are also welcome). It is a week long, overnight residential camp that takes place one week a year and during a weekend in the winter. All campers medical needs can be met while at camp by a full time nurse practitioner, and a pediatric oncologist is on call at all times.

- Hasbro Children's Hospital Asthma Camp
Community Asthma Programs of Hasbro Children's Hospital directs Rhode Island's only weeklong, overnight camp designed specifically for children with asthma. The annual summer camp gives children the opportunity to control their asthma through education in a positive, healthy, safe and challenging atmosphere. The camp is open to boys and girls with asthma who are between 9 and 13 years old, and is held at the Canonicus Camp and Conference Center in Exeter, Rhode Island. The camp is designed to provide an opportunity for children with asthma to share ideas, problems, and concerns about asthma. It also provides an opportunity for them to learn self-reliance and self-confidence outside the home. It provides a positive camp experience for children with asthma.

Texas
- Camp C.A.M.P. (Children's
Association for Maximum Potential)
Camp C.A.M.P. accommodates adolescents with physical limitations, including
amputations. Riflery, cookouts, carnivals, and dances are just a few of the
activities offered to young persons ages 5 to 21. Fees can be waived or lowered
by cost-sharing programs, sliding fee scales, and camp scholarships for
lower-income families.
- Camp Dermadillo
Offers children with chronic dermatologic conditions the opportunity to experience summer camp and support each other in a setting of acceptance, love and fun.
- Camp Summit
A residential camp in Texas for children, youth, and adults who are
developmentally delayed, physically challenged, multi-disabled or dual sensory
impaired.
- Camp Sweeney
Any child with diabetes, between the ages of 5 and 18, is invited to attend Camp Sweeney. Campers are welcome regardless of sex, color, race, creed, religion or nationality.
- Charis Hills Summer Camp
Summer Camp for kids with learning and social difficulties such as ADD, AD/HD, and Asperger's disorder.
- Camp David
Camp David is a week of adventure, discovery and fun, designed specifically for pediatric burn survivors aged 7 to 16. Camp David is unique among burn camps because it also includes siblings and children of burn survivors, whose lives are also severely impacted by burn injury. This amazing camp is made available to the children free of charge.
- Texas Elk Camp
Elks Camp is committed to teaching children that having a difference doesn't make a difference. Children ages 7 to 15 with varying emotional and physical special needs come to Elks Camp for one week and go home strong, confident and ready to face the world with new hope for the future, as reported consistently by parents and guardians.
Utah
- Camp Hobé
Summer camp designed for children with cancer and their siblings, who are often forgotten in the cancer experience. Camp Hobé gives kids the opportunity to participate in camp activities just like healthy children whose families are not affected by cancer. The camp program provides medical and psychosocial supervision to ensure children are safe both mentally and physically during camp.

National Ability Center camps packed with fun, adventure and activities that will challenge your camper to discover his/her abilities, while making friendships to last a lifetime. These activities encourage campers to make friends, build social skills, strengthen physical agility and develop cognitive abilities while having more fun than they've ever had before.

Offers three different camp programs for burn survivors.
Vermont
- Camp Akeela
An overnight sleep away camp in Vermont for boys and girls ages 9 - 16 who have difficulty connecting with their peers. Many, but not all, of our campers have been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome or a non verbal learning disability.
- Camp Thorpe
We are a summer camp for children and adults with special needs. Our campers range in age from 10 to 80!
Virginia
- Camp Baker
Camp Baker supports children from age six through adulthood with mental retardation and similar developmental disabilities.

Camp Easter Seals is designed to offer children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy fun and challenging activities in a supportive and cooperative atmosphere. From campfire sing-a-longs and late night ghost stories to canoeing, nature walks, swimming, and arts and crafts, the Easter Seals Virginia camping program provides the excitement and activity of a traditional summer camp program in a beautiful, accessible setting.

An outdoor camp for ages 7-22 with asperger's, high-functioning autism, and ADHD who can benefit from epic adventures focused on building social and self confidence. Based out of Seattle, Washington, we serve kids from around the world.

West Virginia
- Children's Vision Rehabilitation Program
- Camp Winaca and Hemovon - Kids being kids in West Virginia
Each year many children from West Virginia and surrounding states are diagnosed with cancer or bleeding disorders that can rob them of a normal childhood. Their time and energy is focused on their illness; being in the hospital or having to stay home to rest can be isolating and cause a child to feel lonely. More than anything, they just want to be kids and be able to experience what other healthy kids experience. At Camp Winaca and Hemovon, these kids can cut loose and play together in a safe supportive environment. Although they require 24 hour medical supervision, campers are not charged. The costs are paid by our individual and corporate sponsors.
Wisconsin
- Badger Camp
Wisconsin Badger Camp's mission is to provide a positive natural environment where individuals with developmental challenges can learn about their surroundings and realize their full potential. Through a group living experience, campers develop friendships and expand their social skills. Everyone, regardless of the severity of their disability, are welcome at Badger Camp.

An
outdoor campground on Bethesda's Watertown, Wis. Campus, which is fully accessible to people with cognitive and physical disabilities.
- Camp Needlepoint and Daypoint
Provides a broad variety of activities in a safe, fun environment, encourage socialization and support among youth with diabetes, and help campers gain independence.
- Camp Pow Wow
Camp Pow Wow offers residential and day camp options for people of all ages and a variety of abilities. Campers make friends and develop new skills through experiences in swimming, fishing, canoeing, arts and crafts, recreation, music and nature. Theme weeks provide campers with the opportunity to explore science, the outdoors and the arts through visits by special guests and activities including horseback riding and fire safety training. As one of the first camps in the area established to serve people with disabilities, Camp Pow Wow remains committed to accommodating all needs; no one is turned away due to disability or financial circumstance.
- Camp Wawbeek
At Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek and Wisconsin Elks/Easter Seals Respite Camp, campers enjoy the beautiful outdoors while forming new friendships and discovering themselves through new experiences. Our accessible camps share over 400 wooded acres through which campers can hike, climb, race, explore, swim, create, dance, sing and just hang out - all with friends by their side. Parents and caregivers can relax and enjoy a break from caregiving, knowing that well-trained counselors and staff, as well as a registered nurse, are on-site ensuring their loved one's well-being and encouraging their growth.
- Challenge Camp for Children with ADHD
Challenge camp is an exciting opportunity for children ages 9 to 13 dealing with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety or related disorders to improve their self-esteem, social skills and sense of personal responsibility.
In a safe, supportive environment, Rogers Memorial Hospital camp staff guide your child through fun activities that help your child develop personal skills needed to deal with his or her behavioral health challenges.
- One Step At A Time Camp
Provides positive, safe, and fun camping and other experiences for children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer and leukemia, as well as survivors of childhood cancer and leukemia, while benefiting volunteers and affected families.
- Timbertop Camp for Children with Learning Disabilities
For boys and girls that have been identified by their school districts as needing extra help for a learning disability. Timbertop combines traditional camp programs with extra reading practice and special group activities that focus on dealing with learning disabilities. Special attention is paid to peer relations, building self-confidence and learning new skills.
- Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety's Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth
Created to provide a summer camping experience for youth 7-17 who have endured significant burn injuries. The purpose of the camp is to provide for the unique needs of burn injured youth, while they are having fun, making friends, sharing feeling and developing self-esteem.

Offers separate camping sessions for children with visual, hearing or mild cognitive disabilities, and children with diabetes in Rosholt.
