The American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA)
is the largest, national membership organization representing the interests and
need of recreational therapists. Recreational therapists are health care
providers using recreational therapy interventions for improved functioning of
individuals with illness or disabling conditions.

A branch of the National Recreation and Park Association. NTRS specializes in
the provision of therapeutic recreation services for persons with disabilities
in clinical facilities and in the community. NTRS members include practitioners,
administrators, educators, volunteers, students, and consumers.
